この度、ミネルバ大学を運営するミネルバプロジェクトとの共同運営による高校生向け新プログラム「Apprez High School Accelerator」を開講する運びとなりました。

本プログラムは大学進学前の学生が今後の大学生活やキャリアで成功するために必要なスキルを身に着ける100%英語・100%オンラインのプログラムです。世界最難関校と呼ばれるミネルバ大学を運営するミネルバプロジェクトの企画・監修の元、日本初のミネルバ式高校生プログラムとして開発されました。現状に満足せず常に上を目指し、高いモチベーションを持った日本中の高校生に、ぜひ受講してもらい、世界で活躍してほしいと考えています。 ミネルバのワールドクラスのカリキュラム、学習科学に基づく指導、革新的且つ最先端の技術により、日本の高校生が未来のグローバルな課題に備え力をつけていくサポートができることを楽しみにしています。

Apprez High School Accelerator – 2022年1月、開講

日々進化する現代社会に応じた革新的な教育を提供するため、株式会社 アイランドアプレ（東京、日本、以下「アプレ」）はミネルバプロジェクト（サンフランシスコ、米国、以下「ミネルバ」）と10年間のパートナーシップ契約を締結し、日本の高校生に向けて革新的な教育プログラムを提供します。

ミネルバとアプレが共同運営する “Apprez High School Accelerator” は、高校生が大学進学やその後のキャリアにおいて役立つスキルや概念を習得するプログラムとして生まれ、2022年1月に開講予定です。4つのメインコースからなる本プログラムでは、いずれのコースでも”クリティカルシンキング”、”クリエイティブシンキング”、”コミュニケーションスキル”、そして”コラボレーションスキル”の4つのスキルの習得を目指します。本プログラムを通じて得たスキルはいずれも大学、そしてその後のキャリアでの社会貢献や成功において大いに役立つでしょう。本プログラムでは、アカデミック面でグローバルスタンダードの高い知識の習得に加え、VUCA時代（先行きが不透明で、将来の予測が困難な状態）に待ち受けている様々な困難に果敢に挑戦し、問題解決していく力を得ることを約束します。

Apprez High School Accelerator メソッドの特徴

提供する全てのコンテンツと教育メソッドは、ミネルバの今までの知見と科学的根拠に基づいた学習方法であり、ミネルバによって開発されたものを使用します。ミネルバでは、100%アクティブラーニングの教授法、学域横断型カリキュラムデザイン、そして、クラスメイトや講師からのフィードバックを教育上の重要な要素として考えており、本プログラムに関しても、これらの要素が組み込まれたカリキュラムとなっています。

プログラムは「フォーラム」と呼ばれるミネルバが独自に開発した高度なオンラインプラットフォームを介して提供されます。Apprez High School Accelerator コースを指導する講師は全員、ミネルバ研修を受け、ミネルバのカリキュラムを教える資格を持っています。

Apprez High School Accelerator プログラムの概要

各コースには、1回90分の授業が週2回あり、期間は13週間です。全4コース受講を希望する学生は、最短で9か月（夏学期に2コース受講した場合）、最長2年間（高校2年生からプログラムに参加した場合）かけて学ぶことができます。4つのコースすべてを修了した学生には、アプレとミネルバからの修了証明書が授与されます。

Apprez High School Accelerator – Coming to Japan in January 2022!

[Tokyo, Sept. 6, 2021] International education and training provider, Apprez (Tokyo, Japan) has signed a 10-year partnership agreement with Minerva Project (San Francisco, USA), the pathbreaking education innovator, to deliver innovative educational offerings to learners across Japan, responding to a shift in learning needs and the increased demand for improved learning solutions.

The first offering to be launched in January 2022 is the Apprez High School Accelerator, a Minerva Alliance Program, which provides high school scholars with a definitive, competitive advantage in preparing for their academic futures and careers. Students study up to four college-level courses to supplement their regular high school studies.  The key skills to be enhanced through these four courses include critical and creative thinking along with heightened communication and collaboration skills–all of which will be of tremendous benefit both at university and in future societal contributions.  Moreover, the program will accelerate students’ standards of academic excellence in a truly global context thereby better preparing them for the challenges of a VUCA world.

Minerva Project Features

The curricula, pedagogy, and course content are all developed by Minerva Project based on best practices, derived from the science of learning and honed through experience.  The core elements of its academic model include a Fully Active Learning pedagogy, curricula designed with Cross-Contextual Scaffolding, and a practice of Systematic Formative Feedback from peers and instructors.  These are delivered via an advanced learning environment, called ForumTM.  Furthermore, all instructors participate in intensive training with Minerva Project before being approved to teach the Minerva curriculum.  

Accelerator Programme Overview

Each course is offered twice a week for 90-minutes per session for a duration of 13 weeks.  All four courses can be completed in as little as nine months (with two courses during the summer term) or can be spread out over a two-year period (for advanced students who begin in their 2nd year of high school).  Students who partake in this extracurricular opportunity and successfully complete all four courses of the Apprez High School Accelerator will be recognized with a Certificate of Completion from Apprez and Minerva Project.
